From the Neighbourhood

What better way to kick things off than a Sunday Session! It does not matter what postcode/ city/country you live in there is nothing more disheartening than a non-eventful Sunday. It is the one day of the week that you hold on to with all paws and hope that it will slow down the inevitable arrival of Monday!

So my Melbourne sunday vs. Bec's New York
City sunday - bring it girlfriend!

It was a glorious Melbourne day yesterday - the sun was shining, the sky was blue and an ever so slight breeze successfully kept the stickiness away. I headed down to the Footscray Community Arts Centre with hubby and some friends to listen to a little
New York style Salsa. Orchestra Del Barrio, originating from Afro-Latino and Caribbean roots, played some fastpaced Latin rhythms and got the crowd jumping. Del Barrio translates as “from the neighbourhood” and this unique neighbourhood gig washed down with an icy cold cider was a great way to spend a Sunday afternoon.

So on my NYC sunday I went to brooklyn and had the loveliest loveliest day. A wonderful wander through cobble hill down via some thrift / 2nd hand furniture stores to frankies on court street, carroll gardens, brooklyn -

The sandwiches were to die for - sicilian tuna, with olive oil, tomato and arugula (thats new york for rocket by the way .... I know whatever) on the worlds most delicious flat bread. OMG! Then there was the prosciutto and pecorino, equally amazing. The ricotta cheesecake didn't disappoint either.

We went to yesterdays news - a fabulous old thrift furniture store with some seriously good thrifty bargains.
